Safety First!

Cement powder or freshly mixed concrete, grout or mortar may cause severe burns. Avoid contact with skin. Wash exposed skin areas promptly with water. If redness or burning sensation persists, get prompt medical attention.  If any cement powder or mixtures gets into the eyes, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water and get prompt medical attention.  Keep children away from cement powder and all freshly mixed cement products.

Take these simple precautions to avoid skin contact with cement powder, freshly mixed concrete, grout or mortar.

    1. Wear rubber boots high enough to keep out cement products. Tops of boots should be tight to protect feet.

    2. Wear rubber gloves to protect hands.

    3. Wear long pants tucked inside boots to protect legs.

    4. Wear knee pads when finishing concrete to protect knees.

    5. Wear long-sleeve shirts buttoned on the sleeves and neck to protect upper body and arms.

    6. Wear tight-fitting goggles when handling cement powder to protect eyes.

Don't take chances- “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
